New stations sit at the Shuishe visitor pier, the Ita Thao ferry landing, and a convenience-store plaza on Provincial Highway 21—the three points where riders naturally pause for coffee or boat tickets. Gogoro said each site has at least eight swap bays and canopy cover for rain, a lesson from coastal hubs where batteries corroded faster when left open to mountain mist.
Rental operators in Yuchi township pre-registered fleet accounts so tourists can pick up Smartscooters with batteries already paired to the network. Hotels along the lake received QR codes for front-desk staff to explain swap steps in Mandarin and English before Golden Week check-ins.

Sun Moon Lake draws heavy scooter traffic because car parking near the waterfront is limited and shuttle buses do not serve every trailhead. Hotel concierges trained night-shift staff to direct guests to Ita Thao when Shuishe bays fill after the laser show lets out—a routing habit that previously sent tired riders toward dead chargers uphill.
