Cookie Notice

Updated September 20, 2026

This notice explains cookies and similar technologies on infohandle.net. It should be read with our privacy policy.

What we use

InfoHandle Network uses Google Analytics to measure readership. We do not set advertising cookies. If you sign in, we set strictly necessary session cookies so the site can keep you logged in.

Endevre ID session

Sign in uses Endevre ID. After you return from id.endevre.com, this site sets HttpOnly cookies named ih_oidc_* for the access token, refresh token, ID token, expiry, and a signed profile. They stay on infohandle.net, use SameSite=Lax, and exist so you stay signed in. Signing out clears them and ends the Endevre ID session. Blocking these cookies means Sign in will not work; you can still read the site.

If you sign in, this browser may also keep a local reading preference (edition and language) under ih-account-prefs so the next sign-in can restore it. A short-lived ih-guest-locale snapshot remembers how the page looked before you signed in, so signing out can put it back. Those values stay on your device; they are not HttpOnly cookies.

Google Analytics

Google’s analytics tools may store cookies or similar identifiers on your device, commonly _ga and related _ga_* cookies. They help distinguish new visits from return visits and record which pages were viewed. Those identifiers are set and controlled by Google.

You can block or delete these cookies in your browser. Google also provides a browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics. Blocking Analytics does not stop you from reading the site.

What your browser may load

Pages request fonts from Google Fonts, the Analytics script from Google’s servers, and the GTranslate language widget from GTranslate’s CDN. Those requests are made by your browser and may involve cookies or similar storage those providers control. The translation widget may set googtrans to remember your language.

Our host may use cookies that are strictly necessary to deliver the site, balance traffic, or protect against abuse. Those are technical cookies, not marketing cookies.

If you subscribe to the Daily Update, the form posts to Beehiiv or Buttondown. That provider may set its own cookies on the confirmation page. Those cookies are not set by InfoHandle.

Your choices

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking all cookies may affect how some sites load. Blocking third-party content such as web fonts may change how InfoHandle looks, but the journalism remains readable.
