JCB kicked off its October acquisition calendar with two tracks that target very different cardholders: a domestic cash-advance signup lottery for mass-market products, and a high-spend Disney ticket offer aimed at new Platinum and Gold members.

The cash-advance campaign runs from October 1 through March 31, 2027, and applies when applicants set a cashing limit during online enrollment on eligible cards such as JCB Card W, Card S, Gold, and Platinum. Completing the first step enters customers into a monthly draw for ¥10,000 cash back; meeting a second usage threshold multiplies lottery entries and can rebate up to three months of cash-advance interest, capped at ¥3,000.

Why issuers still push cashing in 2026

Japanese regulators have tightened disclosure on revolving credit, yet issuers continue to market cash-advance lines because they remain a high-margin product for households facing uneven paycheck cycles. JCB’s terms emphasize that interest rebates apply only to amounts actually paid on statement dates, a nod to Financial Services Agency guidance on transparent fee presentation.

Separately, the Disney Resort ticket promotion that began October 1 rewards new Platinum or Gold members who register and spend at least ¥1.5 million within the campaign window with a pair of park tickets. Platinum entrants who reach ¥2 million also receive a ¥5,000 gift card usable inside the resort. Delivery is scheduled months after enrollment—October joiners are told to expect tickets around June 2027—so the offer functions as a retention hook rather than an immediate discount.

Inbound travelers see a different JCB

Foreign visitors holding overseas-issued JCB cards can still access the “Now on JAPAN” 20 percent cashback at Universal Studios Japan through October 31, provided they pre-register and spend at least ¥10,000 on park purchases. Japan-issued cards are excluded, underscoring how the network segments promotions by issuer country.

For households comparing products this autumn, the practical question is whether a cash-advance lottery or a theme-park milestone matches their spending pattern—and whether either offer’s months-long settlement timeline fits upcoming travel plans.
